Today, many excited but somewhat nervous students and parents came to St. John’s for their new family orientation. After a light breakfast, the program in the theater started. The families were introduced to the principals and their secretaries, as well as other staff members they will be interacting with regularly. This short, formal program was followed by videos showcasing our arts, athletic and academic programs. St. John’s is proud to be the first school in the world to feature Sodexo’s new FOOD4U approach to food in schools. The food area in the cafeteria has been transformed over the summer to reflect this new approach. According to Sodexo, “modernity, simplicity and freedom” are the key components. The cafeteria will offer are a larger variety of healthy options for any budget, including freshly prepared wok dishes twice a week, pasta dishes two other days of the week. A very talented St. John’s student who not only excelled in academics but also in the arts, Patricia Martin, has achieved something that few International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma candidates manage to do: she obtained a perfect score of 45 points!
