Some 300 alumni of St. John’s International School were back on campus this past weekend to attend the 50th anniversary alumni reunion. Three days of festivities and activities brought many former students from as far back as 1974 back to Waterloo and to the school they still have such a strong connection with. They reconnected with their former classmates and with many of their former teachers as well, including one of their teachers who is retiring after 44 years at St. John’s!
A concert and performances by current students wowed the alumni on Friday night, but on Saturday it was the alumni’s turn to take the stage and show their talents! The alumni were also taken on a tour of the school by our 12th graders who graduated last weekend. All weekend, there was an art show that displayed the art of 8 of the alumni who went on to become professional artists. On Sunday, there were sports games and a barbecue to bring this festive and memorable weekend to a close. A wonderful weekend of hugs, smiles and memories.
