“Several adjectives came to mind while reviewing the submitted documentation: comprehensive, collaborative, dynamic, meaningful, relevant and impressive. The submitted documentation demonstrates that the CAS programme at St. John’s International School epitomizes IB philosophy, the learner profile and the CAS programme aims and objectives.”
We are so excited to share the above, which is a part of the well-deserving accolade received by St. John’s on its CAS (Create. Act. Serve.) programme by the renowned International Baccalaureate (IB). CAS is a personal development program that includes organizations that are aimed and formed by students with the guidance of their teachers. Although the CAS program is compulsory for grades 11 and 12, it is open to the whole school. St. John’s sees many students such as Claire Graham who join CAS from an earlier grade. Claire says that the program has taught her distributed leadership and helped build her interest in different art forms. St. John’s extensive CAS program list includes the Red Cross, Debate Club, Feminist Society, Biking Club, just to name a very few. On 8 September, the school organized a fair for students to get more involved with CAS, in the Performing Arts Center.
The program also intends to demonstrate how being professional can also be fun! To this effect, an admired Alumni member came in to discuss the effects that being a part of CAS had on him.
