MS students help local service organisation

mains1.jpgWe, at St. John’s, take very seriously our responsibility to help our students grow into well rounded global citizens – prepared to embrace the opportunities they have been given and make their contribution to the world. Central to the St. John’s education is a commitment to service learning, where we make time in our academic curriculum for our students to engage in their community.

This year, the Grade 8’s will direct the service learning efforts toward the non-profit organisation Mains Tendues. This organization extends help to people within Waterloo who are at risk or impoverished. They provide their clients with food and household needs or even assist with the payment of utility bills.

mains.jpgMains Tendues derives most of their resources from the donations from businesses and families in the community. They accept clothes and shoes for all ages, household items, books, toys, etc. Financial donations to the organization are welcomed and tax-deductible.
