We recently had the opportunity to talk to St. John’s alumnus Ryan Moore. Ryan was well known at St. John’s as a great swimmer with considerable potential, and we were excited to learn that he has pursued his love for swimming at a higher level! He is currently at Lafayette College (Pennsylvania) in the Patriot League and has gone to their championship meet every year so far! (see an article about his university experience here)
Ryan says he started his swimming career at St. John’s, when he joined the school in 7th grade. This is when he began to love the sport and decided to further pursue it after graduating from St. John’s. The swim meets during his 7 years at St. John’s gave him the experience necessary to compete at a higher level. He credits the early mornings and constant training for helping create a work ethic that has led him to far more success in this sport.
When we asked him about his favorite St. John’s swim memories, he fondly remembers travelling with the team for swim meets. A trip to Euro Disney with the team after a swim meet in Paris is one of his favorite memories.
We wish Ryan the best of luck for all future endeavors!
