Grade 6 students carried out their first scientific investigation this week. They were looking at different factors that could affect the time taken for a pendulum to complete a full cycle. Some students chose to test the mass of the bob, some chose the length of the pendulum while some chose to test the initial position from where the pendulum is released.
They will now graph their data to analyse and make a conclusion to see if their prediction was correct or not. They will also reflect on what went well and what needs to be improved if they were to carry out the same experiment again. That completes a full run through of all steps involved in the scientific method.
