“Adolescent Visual Culture” Grade 10 Photography Exhibition

“Visual intelligence is comprised of images and information that is formed through experiences”. (Kay 2001)

This photography exhibition explores adolescent visual culture as a compelling force of the teenage experience beyond the classroom. The primary influence in adolescent visual culture is argued to be social media-inspired stimuli and the ability to share an experience instantly through electronic devices and multiple media applications. Students approached this project as “figurative sculpture” and were instructed to capture photos in nature, architecture, group portraits, individual portraits, and free choice.
